Electromechanical Technician

The Electromechanical Technician carries out incident diagnostics, carries out electrical, pneumatic or hydraulic or digital repairs and intervenes if necessary, on the basis of instructions, plans and diagrams.

The incumbent carries out emergency repairs of reactive type on the line and carries out preventive equipment maintenance according to the maintenance schedule drawn up with the production coordinator.


The electromechanic's mission is to :

  • Execute all the mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and other manual work necessary for manufacturing;
  • To read the manufacturing drawings when required;
  • Execute industrial mechanics works;
  • Ensure the repair and maintenance of certain machines;
  • Carry out certain electrical work or PLC programming;
  • Carry out the repair and maintenance of mechanical and pneumatic systems assisted by computer or PLC programming;
  • Dismantle and reassemble machines or installations in order to have access to defective parts;
  • To make every effort to be familiar with the structure and operating modes of industrial systems in order to quickly detect the causes of faults and failures;
  • Perform any other related duties by monitoring environmental, operational and occupational conditions;
  • Ensure preventive maintenance according to the established schedule;
  • Carry out the necessary technical operations (cleaning, repairing, replacing defective or worn parts);
  • Ensure routine maintenance, based on maintenance instructions, plans and programs;
  • Scrupulously respect the safety instructions imposed by electrical and mechanical risks.

Technical skills :

  • To master diagnostic and problem-solving methodologies;
  • Have technical knowledge in mechanics, electricity and electronics;
  • Know how to read, interpret and transpose a plan, a diagram, instructions.
  • Competencies :
  • To know how to make a decision quickly while respecting the safety rules;
  • To ensure in all these activities the integrity of the products and the conformity of the processes guaranteeing quality and safety;
  • To have the capacity to adapt;
  • Have good interpersonal skills.

Health and safety :

  • Constantly ensure the safety and security of assets in all maintenance operations : respect, apply and recall safety instructions.
  • Ensure compliance with the CNESST legislation and follow up according to regulatory constraints;
  • Coordinate, with the Health and Safety team, the HSE program;
  • Influence and help the entire company to implement HSE training initiatives;
  • Identify and anticipate health and safety concerns and hazards.


  • College – Electromechanical Technologist or Electromechanical Technician
  • 5-8 years of experience
  • Bilingual English & French
  • Machinist skills would be an asset
