Job Description

RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC

The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre.

Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University.

The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position summary

Under the supervision of the Manager of Planning and Project Management, the incumbent will work on all aspects related to renovation projects and infrastructure database updates.

General Duties

  • Assist facilities team in preparing project summaries and AutoCAD drawings,
  • Conduct inventory of research rooms and facilities,
  • Log information relative to the space inventory into a database application,
  • Compile and update AutoCAD floor plans and store these documents in a systematic fashion in an electronic storage system,
  • Review and update facilities access matrix for research space,
  • Perform other duties as requested by the manager.

Education / Experience

  • CEGEP student in civil engineering technology or university student in civil or mechanical engineering,
  • Bilingual, French and English (spoken and written),
  • Advanced skills with AutoCAD,
  • Sound knowledge of general office routines,
  • Experience in creating data base-ready spreadsheets,
  • Detail-oriented,
  • Experience with Microsoft Office,
  • Autonomous,
  • Good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
