This role sits within Laurentian Bank.

Location can be Montreal or Toronto.

The incumbent is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Bank's partnership deposits. He or she must respond to client requests for deposits and withdrawals and prepare all related paperwork. He or she will provide weekly and monthly reports to the business lines. He / she will also support the Capital Markets Finance team in various weekly and monthly tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Handle all customer deposits and withdrawals related to the partnership deposits.
  • Investigate irregularities or discrepancies without delay.
  • Collaborate with various teams within Operations and Settlements to complete transactions.
  • Prepare necessary monthly entries.
  • Prepare and send weekly and monthly reports.
  • Provide support for internal and external audits.
  • Monitor department mailbox and respond to questions and inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Support the team in certain other weekly and monthly tasks.
  • Maintain good working relationships with internal and external customers to better achieve department objectives.
  • Verify accuracy, clarity, and completeness of own work and ensure compliance with internal and external audit and regulatory requirements.
  • Carry out daily workload within strict deadlines and manage any problems in collaboration with supervisor.
  • Submit recommendations to supervisor to improve work processes.
  • Keep abreast of legislation, policies, and procedures concerning products and services.

Qualifications

  • College diploma and 3 to 5 years' relevant experience.
  • Bilingualism (French and English), spoken and written.
  • Knowledge of securities and banking products is an asset.
  • Thoroughness and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a demanding environment with tight deadlines.
  • Intermediate or advanced knowledge of MS Excel and Outlook.
  • Good knowledge of complex, large-scale financial database systems; ability to assimilate the query functions of administrative processing systems such as SIBL and CPS is an asset.
  • Professional working proficiency in French and English languages required as position involves frequent written and oral communication on complex matters with internal and external parties in both languages.
