Context

The ALTO project is a major Canadian infrastructure initiative to develop over 1,000 km of passenger rail connecting Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, and Quebec City.

Role Overview

The Infrastructure and Civil Lead Manager oversees all technical disciplines related to linear and civil infrastructure for the ALTO High-Speed Line project. Responsibilities include supervising teams on route engineering, structures, roads, drainage, geotechnics, and utilities, ensuring technical excellence and coordination with other engineering divisions.

Main Duties

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Management : Organize and supervise technical teams, ensure quality and compliance of studies, adhere to standards and regulations.
  • Project Management : Develop and monitor schedules, participate in risk management and design reviews.
  • Interface & Coordination : Facilitate collaboration with other divisions and external partners, represent the division in meetings.
  • Reporting & Communication : Provide progress updates, draft technical reports and summaries.
  • Customer Relations : Build trust with clients, understand their needs, and ensure satisfaction.

Profile / Skills

Qualifications :

  • Master's degree or equivalent in civil engineering, railway infrastructure, or related fields.
  • Over 15 years of experience in large linear infrastructure projects, preferably high-speed rail, managing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong knowledge of North American and international standards for rail and road infrastructure.
  • Experience managing interfaces, subcontractors, and service providers.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural, international environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills; problem-solving abilities.
  • Fluent in English and French, both oral and written.
