Summary Description
Reporting to the Vice President of Quality, the Civil Infrastructure Consultant is responsible for promoting LECUYER’s products to engineering consulting firms, municipalities, government departments, developers, and other project owners in the Greater Montreal area and its surroundings. He or she actively contributes to showcasing LECUYER’s expertise and developing new markets by promoting the inclusion of the company’s products in bid documents, drawings, and technical specifications.
Thanks to their in-depth knowledge of municipal infrastructure, underground networks, and stormwater management products, they play a leading role in the technical positioning of LECUYER’s solutions among various market stakeholders.
As a true ambassador for the company, he constantly monitors evolving standards, technologies, and the competition, while contributing to the organization’s innovation and business development.
Main Responsibilities
Developing Strategic Relationships
- Contribute to positioning LECUYER as a leader and technical authority for LECUYER’s precast concrete products, including stormwater management systems.
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with engineering consulting firms, municipalities, government departments, public agencies, and private developers.
- Serve as the company’s technical representative to key specifiers and market influencers.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers and professionals involved in infrastructure projects.
- Provide training to owners of stormwater treatment equipment.
- Represent the company at conventions, seminars, symposia, conferences, training sessions, and other industry events.
- Organize and participate in plant tours, technical presentations, and demonstrations.
- Conduct training sessions for engineers, consultants, municipalities, and users of the company’s products.
- Prepare reports on visits, activities, and initiatives carried out with partners and customers.
Technical Expertise and Organizational Collaboration
- Promote LECUYER’s products and solutions to engineers, consultants, and infrastructure owners.
- Collaborate with sales teams to secure product approval and maximize their integration into projects.
- Share technical expertise with internal teams regarding the interpretation of plans, specifications, and technical project requirements, and support the development of their technical skills.
- Participate in resolving technical issues and identifying solutions tailored to customer needs.
- Ensure that proposed equivalents and solutions comply with applicable standards, regulations, and requirements.
Innovation and Strategic Monitoring
- Conduct ongoing technology and competitive intelligence to identify new trends, products, and market opportunities.
- Participate in the activities of the technology monitoring committee and in performance evaluations using key performance indicators.
- Contribute to the evaluation of new technologies, materials, and solutions that could enhance LECUYER’s product offerings.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field
- Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec
Professional Experience
- At least 15 years of experience in the field of municipal infrastructure or underground utility systems
- Experience serving as a technical advisor to engineering consulting firms, municipalities, and public agencies
- Experience in the municipal sector (a plus)
Skills
- Excellent knowledge of municipal infrastructure and stormwater management systems
- Good understanding of standards, specifications, and approval processes for infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of precast concrete products and competing solutions
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French; functional English
- Must hold a valid driver’s license
