Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic

Job Description Position Scope: /n The Nuna Group of Companies is now accepting resumes for Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic with large earthworks construction / mining project experience. /n /n We offer: /n /n - 2 week on / 2 weeks off or 3 weeks on/3 weeks off rotations; 12-hour days /n - Competitive hourly rates with Overtime Pay (1.5x), /n - Fly in and fly out. /n - Travel and accommodation provided. /n Responsibilities: /n Key Responsibilities: /n /n - Diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining equipment, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and uptime of heavy mobile equipment critical to mine operations. /n - Works within the contract presented to the client. /n - Mentor apprentices and support employee development and training. /n - Attend weekly safety meetings and provide a safe work environment. /n - Daily documentation and correspondence between client and company on performance of equipment as described in the applicable contract. /n - Ensure QAQC forms and red-line drawing packages are being completed properly and submitted in a timely manner. /n - Ensure work orders are being filled out properly with quality information. /n - Must follow standard safety operating procedures. /n - Prioritize and schedule repairs in collaboration with operations and site supervisors. /n - Assist in continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment reliability and maintenance efficiency. /n - Demonstrate commitment to the continued improvement of Occupational Health, Safety and Environment. /n - Keep maintenance reports and documentation Incorporate HS&E concepts into work activities and demonstrates concern for others health & safety (co-workers, clients, and sub trades). /n Qualifications: /n Qualifications: /n /n - Post Secondary in Heavy Duty Equipment Technician. /n - Minimum 2 plus years experience working on larger industrial heavy equipment used in the mining and earthworks industry; (Earthworks, Civil construction, and Mining); /n - Excellent communication, and organizational skills. /n - Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills in hydraulics, electrical systems, diesel engines, and undercarriage components. /n - Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and interpret diagnostic codes. /n - Have a valid Class 5 Driver's License. /n - Eligible to work and reside in Canada. /n Summary: /n Nuna is committed to the principle of employment equity.
